Funding opportunities for charities

New grants and funding opportunities are available for charities from Poundland’s new charitable foundation, Ecclesiastical’s Movement For Good awards 2021 and the final round of the Tampon Tax Fund.

Find out more about each of the funding opportunities below:

Poundland Foundation

High-street retailer Poundland has launched its own charitable foundation and pledged to distribute over £3m in donations over the next two years.

This includes a new grant programme for local charities working on children’s fitness and health, which is now open for applications.

There are 250 grants of up to £750 each available to provide kits or equipment for local children’s sports team. Applications to the Poundland Foundation will be considered for any kind of team sport – from football to netball, hockey to volleyball.

Ecclesiastical - Movement For Good

Ecclesiastical Insurance Group has launched its Movement for Good awards 2021, offering for the third year running to give £1 million to charities.

The awards allow people to nominate their favourite charity to win a donation of £1,000. Last year over 253,000 people nominated a good cause.

This year donations will be made in two stages. In the first phase of the campaign 500 charities will each receive £1,000. Later this summer a second phase will see a further 500 charities receiving their donation.

Tampon Tax Fund

The Tampon Tax Fund allocates funds generated from the VAT on sanitary products to projects to improve the lives of disadvantaged women and girls.

Applications are now open for grants from the final round of the Tampon Tax Fund, worth a total of £11.25 million. Charities can apply for up to £350,000 in funding to support projects helping thousands of women and girls across the UK.

Priority will be given to bids for work to end violence against women and girls, as well as organisations that support a network of charities.
